Launch of Central Customs Tariff System in Abu Dhabi

The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has officially announced the launch of a central integrated customs tariff system starting April 1, 2025, aimed at enhancing trade efficiency and security.

In the OAE, a centralized customs tariff system will be officially introduced from April 1, 2025, announced by the Federal Agency for Identification, Citizenship, and Customs. This initiative will be the first of its kind in the customs sector in the country, and its goals include reducing the time for operations, simplifying trade, increasing public safety, as well as improving compliance levels and the attractiveness of the customs and economic sectors in the country, and supporting the competitiveness of the country in global rankings.

"The project of the centralized customs tariff system, part of the project 'Platform of Customs Services OAE', represents a federal system that includes classification, tabulation, and updates," said the deputy director general for customs and ensuring border safety, Akhmed Abdulla Ben Lakhid Al-Flasi.
